Despite the rebellion of our hearts and the presence of flawed systems around us, the character of YHWH fills His world, enacting justice and showing his great heart of mercy to all who will yield to him.

1Kings 20 seemingly deviates from the story we have been following thus far. But is that really true? As we dive into this narrative that is akin to an epic, God reveals to us a message he was seeking to teach king Ahab. That he is the LORD, sovereign over all, merciful to whom he chooses, and working with and through unexpected means. In this upside down Kingdom, we see that our primary allegiance must be to King Jesus, the messiah.
