What to Expect

What does "church" mean to you? Is it a building? A group of people? Is it a blessing? Or a source of frustration?

We all come to church with different stories. It is with this in mind that we welcome you to Christ Church and invite you to experience the deep truths of the Gospel with us.

It is these Gospel truths that are at the heart of who we are. We affirm with humility that it is only by the unbelievable love of Christ that what is shattered in us in the fall is being renewed. This is a renewal that is not only individual and personal, but also corporate and creational. In short, God is making his blessings flow “far as the curse is found!”

Worship With Us

In the meantime, while we await the final revelation of the full glory of the these Gospel truths, we invite you to join us as we listen to the music of redemption and sway along to the rhythm. To be sure there will be moments where we individually and communally get off key. But we are committed to staying “in tune” with the Gospel through Biblical, expository, preaching and teaching, the communion of the saints, and seeking the Lord in prayer. Our hope is that God would be glorified and His name lifted up throughout the West Michigan area!

The services are pretty much the same except there may be members welcomed or a baptism at one service and not at the other service on a given Sunday.

You'll find us dressed casual to business casual.

We welcome your child(ren), if you have children with you there are a few options:
  • Stay through the entire worship service. Many of our families see worship as one of the most unifying times of their week as a family. If your children are a bit wiggly that is OK. God’s family comes in all shapes and sizes.
  • Use our nursery. Leave children three and under in the care of our workers during all or part of the service.
  • Christ Kids Worship for children 4-6 years old is offered during the sermon of the first service. Children start and end the worship service with their family.

Sunday School classes are available for all ages at 10:00am September - May. We have an active youth ministry with activities Sunday evenings, fun events and opportunities to serve throughout the year.

Coffee, tea and juice is available before and between services without cost. We hope you will connect with others while you enjoy a beverage.

We are part of the Presbyterian Church of America.
