Sanctification:
a work of God's Free Grace
On the one hand we might say that sanctification is one of those high falutin theological words that we use in church but no one is really sure what it means; or on the other hand we might say that sanctification describes the everyday life of a believer seeking to live out their identity in Christ. Both of these may be correct! So join us as we unpack both the word and the concept making practical applications to our lives.
PROPHETS OF THE old testament
VS THE ASSYRIAN EMPIRE
Previously we explored the Assyrian Empire's history, its rise, downfall, along with the fall of Israel and decline of Judah through the eyes and words of Isaiah. We turn our focus to the Assyrian Empire as seen through the Minor Prophets, with about 145 Assyrian references in the Old Testament.
SERMON RESPONSE
You are welcome at the circle to talk about what God is stirring up in your heart through the presentation of the word this morning. It’s ok to just listen also. Second service attenders come and get a preview.
Introduction to Biblical Theology
Despite being made up of sixty-six books, written by numerous authors in many genres, the Bible tells one story, the story of Jesus and his kingdom. Biblical theology is an approach to the Bible that examines how the themes of that story develop and connect together. We will look at the ways in which the New Testament is informed by the Old Testament and how the Old Testament is fulfilled in the New. A better understanding of the Biblical story will help us to better understand our identity and calling.
